Weekly update: 2017 week #25

This is our weekly update for the 25th week of 2017. The features and fixes might arrive at the desktop and mobile app a few days later than the web version.

Feature

  • iOS app released. More improvements coming to mobile soon, stay tuned!

Improved

  • [Mobile] Made the toolbar a sliding menu to avoid the three dot menu getting cut off by the keyboard. We’ll add back setting color label and heading very soon! (Coming to mobile apps in the next version)
  • [Mobile] Better Google login on mobile apps. Before, you had to log in with your browser and the process was horrible. Now, a popup appears within the app to choose a Google account. (Already in iOS, coming to Android app soon)
  • [Mobile] Made expand/collapse icon easier to tap. (Coming to mobile apps in the next version)
  • [UI/minor] Made the setting popup larger (we also did an internal refactor for all legacy popup code).

Fixed

  • [UI] Fixed can’t resize the left pane.
  • [Tagging] Fixed tags not excluding colons.
  • [Search/UI] Fixed document title is not displayed if search query matches the note of the document in Search Everywhere.

Weekly update: 2017 week #24

This is our weekly update for the 24th week of 2017. The features and fixes might arrive at the desktop and mobile app a few days later than the web version.

Ongoing

  • We’re working to pass the App Store review on the iOS app. We’re going to implement native Google login and remove all upgrade channels within the app to pass the review. Stay tuned!

Improved

  • [Very minor] Now when you reply to a share invite email, the reply goes to person who invited you, not us.

P.S. Dynalist moved to a new office last week and that took a lot of our time. All moved in now, and hopefully we’ll be more productive this week!

Weekly update: 2017 week #23

This is our weekly update for the 23th week of 2017. The features and fixes might arrive at the desktop and mobile app a few days later than the web version.

Feature

  • Now you can use the “\” character to escape Markdown characters such as “`” (backtick) or “_” (underscore).

Improved

  • Further remembering scroll position improvements. Namely, the jump is now instant rather than slightly delayed. Also, in addition to remember scroll position for each document, Dynalist now remembers for each zoom level as well.
  • [Upload manager] Now files in upload manager are sorted newest to oldest, and the uploaded time is displayed as well.
  • [Minor] Now on the desktop app, the filename of the PDF file has a default filename with “.pdf” extension. Before, the filename is empty.
  • [Minor] Changed menu option text from “Make numbered list” to “Number children” and from “Unmake numbered list” to “Stop numbering children”, to make things more clear (this option confuses lots of people). Thanks to Jerud’s suggestion!

Weekly update: 2017 week #17

Fixed

Weekly update: 2017 week #16

This is our weekly update for the 16th week of 2017.

Improved

  • New help center that can be searched. We’ll keep improving the it so you can find answers to common questions faster, as well as cutting support volume in order to spend more time on development.
  • New option to unindent in-place. If you don’t want an item to be moved to the bottom when getting unindented, turn on this option under Settings – Preferences – Control. Note that indenting will still affect its children; this setting only affects unindenting.
  • [iOS closed beta] Moved the toolbar to right above the keyboard, consistent with the Android app. This way it’s easier to access and it doesn’t block any text. This will be included in the upcoming iOS public release.
  • [Security] Changing password will now log out all other sessions.
  • [Mobile] Read Mode state is now saved, so you can stay in Read Mode after refreshing (coming to mobile apps soon).

Fixed

  • [UI/minor] Fixed clicking will paste duplicates after dragging to convert document into item.
  • [UI/date] Fixed not being able to tell which date is selected when hovering the selected date, due to the very light background color.

P.S. We’ll be on semi-vacation for the next few weeks, so we might be a bit less responsive. Just FYI in advance!
