Weekly update: 2018 week #16

This is our weekly update for the 16th week of 2018. The features and fixes might arrive at the desktop and mobile app a few days later than the web version.

  • [Extension] Download our beta companion Chrome extension here! To use, follow the instructions on the extension page. With the extension, it’s now a breeze to capture links and text on the web.
It’s a beta release, so it’s going to be a little rough around the edges. Thanks in advance for trying it out and giving us your feedback! 🙂

  • [iOS] Fixed search issue in newest version (v1.2.5).

P.S. We’ll be on semi-vacation for the next few weeks, so we might be a bit less responsive. Just FYI!

It should also copy the title and url to the clipboard. Similar to the workflowy extension.
I don’t always want to send it to the inbox. Just a quick copy and paste to certain outliner.

    • Use this extension if you want that: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/clip-to-dynalist/ahiipffmcifaempjoeecollondfinbik

The purpose of our companion extension is that you don’t need to leave the page to add the clipped content. That’s what we think a clipper should work, at least. Furthermore, overriding the user’s clipboard might not be what they want. The way I understand it, the third party WorkFlowy extensions went for the clipboard method because WorkFlowy does not provide an API for adding at a specific location.

      > I don’t always want to send it to the inbox. Just a quick copy and paste to certain outliner.

I understand your use case. Please consider either using the extension above (the WorkFlowy extension should work too), or sending it to inbox first and then use the Move to feature to triage them later.

    For your consideration:
what about clip page title, page URL *and* page selected text (if any)? Selected text could be at second line in notes.

    • Everything will be customizable in a future release. Any fixed format can’t satisfy everyone 🙂
