Weekly update: 2018 week #29

This is our weekly update for the 29th week of 2018. The features and fixes might arrive at the desktop and mobile app a few days later than the web version.


Feature

  • [Search] New “in:title” and “in:note” search operators for more flexible search. “in:title” allows you to search for the following keywords only in the item title, and “in:note” works likewise.

Fixed

  • [Sharing] Fixed cannot invite collaborators that have email addresses of certain new TLDs like “.games”.

Improved

  • [Performance] Improved load and edit performance for large documents with a lot of deleted items.
  • [Search] Now when you search for a word in quotes, only the full word will be matched. For example, if you search for “app” (with quotes), occurrences of “app” will be matched but occurrences of “apple” will not be.

Fixed

  • [UX] Fixed selection issue in shared view with read-only permissions. The issue is that when you try to select text, the entire document gets selected instead.

  • Our Dynalist Companion Clipper extension is now available for Firefox! You can get it here.

Improved

  • [Export] New option to export to plain text without any indentations. Useful for exporting articles and emails.

Fixed

  • [UX] Fixed Left Arrow/Right Arrow/Esc not responding at end of a tag.
  • [UX] Fixed document not scrolled to the right position when zooming out.
  • [Keyboard shortcut] Allow using “Ctrl+Enter” as a custom shortcut in custom keymap.
  • [API] Fixed UTF-8 encoding issue with the API.
  • [UI/minor] Fixed file pane tooltip showing through context menus.

Fixed

  • [UX] Fixed some issues on the desktop app where preferences don’t sync properly when switching between online and offline states.

Ongoing

  • We’ve been working on API and its documentation; the alpha version of the API should be released in the next few weeks!

Improved

  • [Clipper extension] Now you can use tags (e.g. “%title%” and “%url%”) more than once in the format options (released in v0.3).

Fixed

  • [UX] Fixed Firefox not saving Dynalist password.

This is our weekly update for the 24th week of 2018. The features and fixes might arrive at the desktop and mobile app a few days later than the web version.


Improved

  • [UX] Esc now cancels the current search if you’re not editing an item.
  • [UX/minor] You can also use Esc to close menus now.

Fixed

  • [Preferences] Fixed desktop and mobile apps not periodically fetching preferences saved on the server.
  • [Clipboard] Fixed not being able to right click an image, select “Copy image” and paste into Dynalist.
  • [Clipboard] Fixed not being able to copy links into the note field, while it worked fine in the item title.

Weekly update: 2018 week #23

This is our weekly update for the 23rd week of 2018. The features and fixes might arrive at the desktop and mobile app a few days later than the web version.


Feature

  • Newest Pro feature: add custom CSS that show up on all platforms! (This new option appears in Settings under the “Dynalist Pro” tab.)

Improved

  • [Mobile/UX] Now when accidentally tapping on the gap between two items, the keyboard won’t hide.
  • [Mobile/UX] The cursor now lands more precisely when using Up/Down keys on the mobile app.

Fixed

  • [Mobile/UX] Now when you switch between items, the keyboard stays open. Before, the keyboard hides and then immediately shows up, which was annoying.
  • [UX/minor] Fixed bug where the page will be scrolled the item that’s being edited when you come back to Dynalist, even if you scrolled to somewhere else.
  • [Mobile/UI] Fixed popup messages such as the move item success message would temporarily block the mobile bottom toolbar.

  • [Mobile UI] Improved the “Move to” UI on mobile. See screenshot below:
  • [Mobile UI] Improved the share dialog UI on mobile. See screenshot below:
  • [UX] Now you can Ctrl+click (or Cmd+click) a document name or a bookmark name to open it in a new tab. This only works in the web app.

Fixed

  • [iOS] Fixed Up/Down keys not working when using an external Bluetooth keyboard (released in v1.2.6).
  • [UI/minor] In web app and desktop narrow view, a bottom toolbar that’s the same as the one on mobile is shown for easier editing.
