Weekly update: 2018 week #23

This is our weekly update for the 23rd week of 2018. The features and fixes might arrive at the desktop and mobile app a few days later than the web version.


Feature

  • Newest Pro feature: add custom CSS that show up on all platforms! (This new option appears in Settings under the “Dynalist Pro” tab.)

Improved

  • [Mobile/UX] Now when accidentally tapping on the gap between two items, the keyboard won’t hide.
  • [Mobile/UX] The cursor now lands more precisely when using Up/Down keys on the mobile app.

Fixed

  • [Mobile/UX] Now when you switch between items, the keyboard stays open. Before, the keyboard hides and then immediately shows up, which was annoying.
  • [UX/minor] Fixed bug where the page will be scrolled the item that’s being edited when you come back to Dynalist, even if you scrolled to somewhere else.
  • [Mobile/UI] Fixed popup messages such as the move item success message would temporarily block the mobile bottom toolbar.

  • [Mobile UI] Improved the “Move to” UI on mobile. See screenshot below:
  • [Mobile UI] Improved the share dialog UI on mobile. See screenshot below:
  • [UX] Now you can Ctrl+click (or Cmd+click) a document name or a bookmark name to open it in a new tab. This only works in the web app.

Fixed

  • [iOS] Fixed Up/Down keys not working when using an external Bluetooth keyboard (released in v1.2.6).
  • [UI/minor] In web app and desktop narrow view, a bottom toolbar that’s the same as the one on mobile is shown for easier editing.

  • [Android app] Fixed captured page URL from mobile Chrome is empty (released in v1.2.5).
  • [UX/minor] Fixed “Go to parent” shortcut not working when focused in the note field.

  • [UX] Fixed loading a search result page (either through bookmark or URL) will add a new empty item in that document.

  • [Keyboard shortcut] Added new customizable shortcut to copy link of current item.
  • [Keyboard shortcut] Added new customizable shortcut to go to start or end of current item.

Fixed

  • [Mobile/UI] Fixed large image taking more than full width on mobile. This fix is web-only for now; it will be in the next mobile app update.
  • [UX/minor] Fixed “Go to parent” shortcut not zooming out when invoked from the current root item.
  • [iOS] Fixed blinking cursor taking up 100% height in the search bar on iOS. This fix is web-only for now; it will be in the next mobile app update.

  • [Extension] Now you can customize captured item format.
  • [Extension] Now after opening the popup, you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Enter to capture faster.

Feature

  • [Extension] Download our beta companion Chrome extension here! To use, follow the instructions on the extension page. With the extension, it’s now a breeze to capture links and text on the web.
    It’s a beta release, so it’s going to be a little rough around the edges. Thanks in advance for trying it out and giving us your feedback! 🙂

Fixed

  • [iOS] Fixed search issue in newest version (v1.2.5).

This is our weekly update for the 15th week of 2018. The features and fixes might arrive at the desktop and mobile app a few days later than the web version.


Improved

  • [Mac app] Three finger swipe to navigate on the macOS desktop app.
    Note: to enable this, please choose “Swipe with two or three fingers” option in System Preferences – Trackpad – More gesture – Swipe between pages. We wanted to implement two finger to swipe, unfortunately, because of technical limitations, only three finger swipe is possible.
  • [Mobile app] Added option for removing a date after tapping on it.

Fixed

  • [iOS] Fixed wrong text getting shared when sharing from Google Chrome.
  • [iOS] Fixed text paste not working in iOS 11.3.
  • [iOS] Fixed two taps are required to start editing an item in iOS 11.3.

Weekly update: 2018 week #14

This is our weekly update for the 14th week of 2018. The features and fixes might arrive at the desktop and mobile app a few days later than the web version.


Improved

  • [Date format] Now, in the “Date display format” Pro setting, you can use “relative” to always show dates as relative, e.g. “in 18 days” or “3 months ago”. Note, “relative” cannot be mixed with other date formats.
  • [Mac desktop] Show the correct shortcut for the Backward and Forward buttons at the top left corner of the macOS desktop app.
  • [UX] Put “New document” option above the “New folder” option in create file menu and folder right click menu. This way, the more commonly used option is more accessible.
  • [UI] Made Cyrillic characters look nicer under default font settings.

Fixed

  • [UI/minor] Fixed tag and internal link auto-complete not appearing in the note field of the document root item.
  • [UI/minor] Fixed item content getting pushed to the second line on mobile, if both checkbox and numbering are present for that item.
